PEI Roadrunners Inspirational Runner 2019: Diane Boswall
Diane has been a long time member of PEI Roadrunners, having participated in many events in the past. She had been sidelined by injury over the last few years; however, this did not prevent her from continued involvement in the sport, both with her running friends and the PEI Roadrunners club. She continued to show up to her Saturday morning group runs, and participated in many Roadrunner races as a walker (often walking as fast as some others run!). Diane was always in good humour and pleasant, despite her adversity, and remained very supportive of others. As one of her running mates said in their nomination “I think it did her good to continue to be involved with running, but it also made me happy to still have her influence”.
With patience, time, a positive attitude, and a willingness to try new methods, Diane is now back to running and is looking strong. For her running friends, “she’s a continual reminder of the value of patience, hard work, friendship, and positivity”. Diane is truly inspirational, and it’s great to see her running the roads once again!
Congratulations Diane! Someday we will present you with your fancy award and a lovely prize from award sponsor Ewen Stewart & The Prince Edward Island Marathon!
